Katie Pocock always knew that she would be a paddler; she was dragged to the beach with her dad as a child and spent her teens watching my older brother paddle his K1 and surf ski round lakes and beaches, in many ways she didn’t really have any other option.
So after winning a World Surf Ski title (Manly, Australian, 2000), nine consecutive National K1 500m titles, over ten National Surf Lifesaving titles and an A Final at the World Sprint Championship (Atlanta, Georgia, 2003) her paddling career has almost gone full now that she is focusing on ocean paddling.
