Oscar Chalupsky's Blog
1 month from the Molokai
This is one of my first Blog entries for some time but I am
going to try and keep it up every week. I have one month to go to try and
secure my 12th Molokai World Championship Title. I have been putting in the mileage and feeling
good about the race. I have been exercising two to three times a day. Below is
one of my training paddle sessions I did with all the other Epic V10 paddlers,
those being Hank McGregor and Bevan Manson.
Manson has been doing most sessions with me and McGregor has now started
to train with the two of us.
I have been paddling my Epic V10 Ultra everyday and it is
always a pleasure to paddle. Most days, I feel very tired and don’t feel like
training so hard. When you wake up at 4:30am, your muscles ache and you think
and feel that you need more sleep. I have lost approximately 10kg and have
about 5kg to go. That is 22Lbs and 11lbs for those USA imperial readers.
I am trying to do a least three hard and long sessions a
week, downwind. The next paddle I hope to do, if the wind plays the game, is a
56km paddle, from Tinley Manor to Durban
Harbour.
Please give me some feed back on the Blog and I am happy to
answer any questions you may have.
