New Year In China!
Nearly 2.5 years after we filed a lawsuit to recover our goods from the Flying Eagle Factory in China, we finally have them back! The judge issued a ruling on our case, and we have now moved all of our recovered goods to our new factory, during my recent visit to China. This included 239 Epic boats, complete sets of molds for all our boats and small parts, plus a large quantity of raw materials.
Nobody wins in a legal settlement; unfortunately we had no choice other than the legal route in 2008, when our negotiations with Flying Eagle could not reach conclusion. We are very happy to finally put this behind us and move forward with our business!
Hangzhou Epic Boat Co. Ltd, our new factory in China (fully owned by Epic Kayaks, Inc.) has been operating for over two years now. I am really happy with our crew here, the production volumes and quality continue to increase each month – both with our boats and paddles. I am also excited to be able to restore my full focus to the exciting projects we have in the works, including Epic's double surf ski, which is scheduled for release in May.
I was in China for the annual Chinese New Year celebration with our factory staff, always a good time! The pictures are of us celebrating, and the truck bringing our goods back to our factory!
