Mauritius Ocean Classic

We are very pleased to announce the second edition of the Island Shamaal - Mauritius Ocean Classic, presented by Epic Kayaks, a race which forms part of the international surfski World Series.

Race date is Saturday the 11th of September, with a wind window in place, allowing race organizers to find the best conditions. The racers will paddle from Souillac to Le Morne (28 kms) off the southern portion of the beautiful Island of Mauritius!

The inaugural race was a hit, with excellent organization and a race venue that is nothing short of paradise. As a result, this year the top international and local paddlers are signed up to battle for the title, racing a course that is sure to be recognized as one of the top downwind courses on the circuit.

The Island of Mauritius also offers all the facilities and opportunities for combining a wonderful and exciting family holiday, which has set the stage for a full week of "extra-curricular" activities, and a great opportunity for some surfski camaraderie.
