Bill Jackson’s is a full service outdoor shop.  In addition to our kayak department we supply: Backpacking Camping Fishing Hunting In-line Skating Metal detecting Scuba Diving and Snow Skiing

It all began in 1946…. by accident!  What started as an army surplus store has evolved into one of the nation’s most unique outdoor specialty shops. It has been more then 60 years in business and Mr. and Mrs. “J” still come in 6 days a week.  One of the things that make our store special is the people we hire.   Each of our employees is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the activity/sport that they were hired for.  With our indoor heated pool pistol range snow ski deck and a lake right out our back door we teach what we sell.

 

 

Everything!  We love to sell fun.  Living in Florida we are surrounded by water.  The best and sometimes only way to get to know the local waterways is in a kayak.  From the Gulf of Mexico to the springs and rivers people come to Bill Jackson’s for advice.  One of the things we enjoy most is helping someone plan a kayak trip to a local area that we know and love. 

 

 

 

Here in our area kayak fishing reigns supreme.  While the overall market for kayaking may be slowing down for us kayak fishing is hot.  We have a huge fishing department in the store that helps us draw new customers to the kayak department. First we get them hooked on kayaking thru fishing. Once they get comfortable in a kayak and want to paddle longer and faster helping them make the transition to a lighter weight touring boat is easier. 

 

 

Going green is on everyone’s mind these days.  We hope to see more advances in recycled materials for use in kayaks and kayaking accessories.  We would also like to see more programs and/or marketing dollars aimed at younger paddlers and families. The future of our sport relies on getting and keeping people involved.

 

 

The Epic brand is a great complement to our shop. With Epics range of design and price points they make it easier to fill our customer’s needs. Surf skis are gaining popularity in our area and we are seeing more races then ever before. Epic is a brand that is well known and respected in the racing community.  Customers come in looking specifically for their V10 line.  Carrying Epic has been a great choice for Bill Jackson’s.

 

 

 

We feel they will continue to lead the industry in high end kayaks.  We see Epic as the leader in speed design and weight challenging other manufactures to keep up.
