An accomplished expedition paddler joins the surfski world
There was no question she had the endurance base for the 22 mile crossing from Culebra. This winter Freya became the first woman to successfully circumnavigate New Zealand's South Island. The 2386 km long trip is one of the most beautiful, yet challenging paddles worldwide, and Freya completed it in only 47 paddling days, averaging 50 km a day. On the final leg Freya paddled continuously for 165 km in 32.5 hrs!
